Everyone's opinion on what art is is different. I just so happen to find photography with intense emotions art. I think photos are more expressive then a painting of flowers.

As you started out saying, art and what someone finds more expressive is in the eye of the beholder. Some people find lots a life in say a painting of flowers, you get a color pallette that is broad, paint application, the brush strokes, contrast, harmony, paint thickness, and color intensity to name a few, paintings can be profoundly powerful things, again all in the eye of the beholder. Keep doing your thing ^^.
